During her interview with House investigatos Susan Rice admitted that she did unmask the names of Trump officials at least once.
From Washington Examiner:
Former national security adviser Susan Rice revealed to House investigators she was curious about why the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates was in New York in December 2016 and as a result, unmasked the identities of senior Trump officials.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the crown prince, met with Trump officials including former national security adviser Mike Flynn; President Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner; and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.
Sources confirmed that attendees in the meeting discussed issues including Iran, Yemen, and the Mideast peace process, nothing having to do with Russia.
So why was she looking at this? She was the National Security Advisor, not someone doing intel.
So how does she become aware of this unless she/someone is tracking either the movements of the Crown Prince and/or the Trump team?
And the fact that she’s ‘curious’ gives her the right to examine their conversations?
Plus the reports weren’t about just one unmasking, but multiple unmaskings.
But once again, Republicans appear to simply accept this line.
Though this action elicited criticism from Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., who heads the committee, and Trump, who claimed Rice had committed a crime, some Republicans on the committee stated they were content with her answers.
“I didn’t hear anything to believe that she did anything illegal,” Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., told CNN. He did not address any of her classified remarks.
“She was a good witness, answered all our questions,” Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, told CNN. “I’m not aware of any reason to bring her back.”
Rice told the committee she did not disclose any classified information to the press.
Yet somehow information about Michael Flynn, and other information made it out to the media. So either she’s lying or someone else that still needs to be put on the block did it.
But her simply saying she didn’t do it doesn’t answer the question, because someone did leak information.
Meanwhile, who improperly leaked out the substance what she said to the House investigators?
